Cartoon#044: Stool Type 7
Not every suspicious rumble ends in disaster... but when it does, Bristol Stool Type 7 has arrived. Discover what diarrhoea can reveal about your digestive health, why it matters in bowel care, and why knowing your stool types is more important than you might think.
We've all done it... confidently trusted a fart... only to discover it had other plans. Type 7 diarrhoea isn't just embarrassing—it can be a warning sign that something isn't right. For people living with a spinal cord injury, loose stools can quickly turn into skin problems, dehydration, disrupted bowel routines and a whole lot of unnecessary stress.
The Bristol Stool Chart may look a bit clinical, so I thought it deserved a little Life of Lionel treatment. Sometimes humour helps important lessons stick far better than another medical poster on the wall.
At Fellow Carer, we teach carers, agencies and healthcare professionals not just what the stool types are, but why they matter and what practical action to take when things go... well... a bit too fluid.
Over to you... what's the funniest (or most embarrassing!) "trusted a fart" story you've ever heard—or lived to regret?
