PREPARING THE CLIENT

While not all clients go to these lengths, we included cleaning the SPC site as your trainees may be asked to do it for clients.

Abena instructs trainees on this essential daily routine explaining the features of a leg bag, how it's fitted and where on the client's leg it should go.

6.7 Hoisting Into Wheelchair: Checks & Measures
In this section, Abena addresses the small things that can have a big impact on a client's day if not done properly.

6.9 Catheter Check
Towards the end of the presentation, the trainee is given a demonstration on how to arrange the catheter to ensure free flow before zipping the client's flies.

6.2 Drying the Client: Their Front
As before, Abena, the presenter instructs trainees on drying the client, but this time the front of their body. She also alerts them to a hazard particular to those with supra-pubic catheters.

6.4 Dressing the SPC Site
Our presentation on dressing the site introduces the trainee to Dressings and materials that they may not have heard of before, thereby enhancing their clinical skills.

6.6 Dressing the Client
While most people dress without thinking about it, dressing another full grown adult might cause some confusion. However, our training will prepare trainees for how to do all these things and help their morning routine go smoothly.

6.8 Scrotum Check
As mentioned before, a scrotum check is a small thing that can have a big impact on a male client's day. Here, we show the trainee how to make the adjustments.

6.9.1 Final Tasks: Top and Chest Strap
Finally, our presenter wraps up by drawing the trainee's attention to the client's chest strap.
