This is mine, a hilarious tale of a young guy trying to make ends meet in London, the world's most expensive city.

His mission: To Save Money So He Could Pay His Debts - a mission that led him to a scheme which sees people living with the elderly giving domestic help, security and friendship in return for rent-free accommodation.

It was my first taste of 'Care' and some really funny things happened while I was doing it.
The Story So Far
I was born in 1972, when Nixon was elected President of the United states, for a second time, and Donny Osmond's song 'Puppy Love' was at number 1 in the music charts (not my kind of music, but hey-ho).
As a young boy I loved to write and
draw pictures (wherever I was, there
was always a pencil and paper
nearby).
A night in June 1983 changed my life. My house burned down. My mother and I jumped 70 feet to safety. She survived unscathed, but I suffered 3rd degree burns to my legs. I've been hot stuff ever since.
While in hospital I was visited by a stranger who walked into my secure intensive care unit unchallenged. He asked me what happened to me, told me I would be alright, kissed me on the forehead and left. He passed my mum on his way out and she asked me who he was and how he got into my room. She went back to look for him, searching everywhere, but couldn't find him. She asked the ward sister if she saw him, she said no. They checked the security cameras - no sign of him.
All I know is that I healed sooner than the doctors expected, and was back at school the following term.
Speaking of school, kids can be a pain in the neck, if they know you're burnt. So I put up with teasing, jokes and bullying for a while. That was, until I found my inner tough kid and sent a message that I wasn't to be trifled with.
I spent my school years coming to terms with my injury, developing self-confidence and break-dancing at school events.
